IT Technician

RAICES is looking for an Information Technology (IT) Technician to join our team in San Antonio, TX.  Alongside an IT managed service provider (MSP), the IT Technician will help make sure our 200+ employees have the equipment they need, the training to use it, and that security and data best-practices are followed.  

  • Coordinating with HR and the MSP to make sure new employees get setup with appropriate computing and telephony equipment.
  • Installing and upgrading operating systems
  • Installing and maintaining IT agent software on employee computers
  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
  • Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
  • Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
  • Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders
  • Coordinating with managed printer service company to maintain printer uptime.
  • Keeping inventory of equipment.
  • Maintaining documentation of all systems at RAICES.
  • Helping the Finance department maintain accurate records on purchasing and accounts payable for technology related expenses.
  • Gathering feedback from RAICES staff for comments, suggestions, complaints and other feedback.
  • Training HR and Finance staff on administrative technology systems.
  • Training RAICES staff on technology systems like Slack, Microsoft 360, Google Suite, etc.
  • Providing on-the-ground assistance to RAICES staff when/if our MSP is unavailable.
  • Evaluating technology products, systems, and vendors against RAICES's specific needs.


  • Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field
  • Proven experience as an IT Technician or relevant position
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication ability
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
  • In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
  • Ability to work in a mixed Microsoft / GSuite environment
  • Ability to administer Windows and MacOS computers.
  • Familiarity with administration of Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and GSuite
