Development Assistant / Gift Processing Specialist

RAICES is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency that promotes justice by providing free and low-cost immigration legal services and education to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees in Texas.  We actively advocate for these individuals and do whatever it takes to assist the immigrant community. 

Position Summary:

We are looking to hire an enthusiastic and socially conscious Development Assistant to support multiple functions of the Development department at RAICES. They will report directly to the Development Systems Manager and work closely with the donor relations team and other key development staff. The Development Assistant will play a key role in effectively capturing, maintaining, and reporting crucial donor and donations data for the department. 

Qualified candidates should possess exemplary analytical and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps) and be highly organized with the ability to effectively work in a fast-moving environment. 

Job Description:

Database and Gift Administration

  • Manage data entry and gift processing for donations received: maintain/input donor and donation information on a daily basis into the fundraising software EveryAction.
  • Perform ongoing imports and exports of data related to all donation platforms.
  • Review electronic donations to ensure they sync correctly to donors and donor history.
  • Support constituent record management, donation platform integration, and data organization to best support the division’s revenue goals and reconciliation process with the Finance Department.
  • Ensures data integrity, processes, and regular data cleanup for all donor records.
  • Assist with the creation and updating of data monitoring tools such as dashboards, reports, etc.
  • Be knowledgeable of development processes, including gift acknowledgment, and support these activities of the department as needed.
  • Assist with maintaining office systems such as filing, copying, and supply ordering.
  • Other tasks and duties reasonably related to job responsibilities

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates the highest level of professional and ethical conduct
  • Top proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel), Google Apps, and CRM systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and computer skills
  • Effective use of time management and attention to detail
  • Highly organized with the ability to work effectively and autonomously in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment; a self-starter yet inquisitive
  • Spanish-speaking preferred
