Employee Assistance Coordinator

RAICES is hiring an Employee Assistance Coordinator to build and facilitate RAICES employee assistance program (EAP), providing counseling and referrals to professionals to assist employees with personal and professional needs. This full-time position will report to the Chief Human Resources Officer and is based in San Antonio.

RAICES is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency that promotes justice by providing free and low-cost immigration legal services and education to underserved immigrant children, families and refugees in Texas.  We actively advocate for these individuals and do whatever it takes to assist the immigrant community.

Founded in 1986, RAICES has grown to be the largest immigration legal services provider in Texas. With offices in Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio, RAICES is a frontline organization in the roiling debate about immigration and immigrants in the world. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Builds a comprehensive EAP program in collaboration and consultation with other human resources staff members and department leaders.
  •  Evaluates employee’s need and provides counseling services or provides referrals to an appropriate third-party professional;
  • Communicates with human resources and, to the extent appropriate and necessary, with immediate supervisors to proactively identify employees who may need assistance;
  • Conducts confidential, anonymous surveys to ensure employee needs are being addressed;·        Recommends modifications and/or additions to the EAP as needed to meet employee care goals;
  • Coordinates with health insurance providers to determine and communicate the availability of preventive health services;
  • Develops and maintains a directory of personal and professional service providers throughout the areas where RAICES has offices or employees;
  • Serves as primary contact for offsite treatment and counseling services; 
  •  Fields and answers employee inquiries regarding the EAP.
  • Coordinates with the human resources director to develop the EAP budget; and
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 


Qualifications:

  • LSW required, MSW preferred;
  • Licensed Counselor;
  • Experience providing referrals and building networks of professional relationships;
  • Experience working in an EAP;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to proactively analyze and assess uncomfortable situations and identify appropriate resolutions;
  • Ability to remain professional, tactful and empathetic;
  • Thourough understanding of confidentiality and anti-discrimination requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act and other applicable laws;
  • Affinity for RAICES mission and vision.
