Refugee Resettlement Match Grant Case Manager

Position Summary The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES) seeks to hire a Match Grant Case Manager for the Refugee Resettlement Program. Under the supervision of the Resettlement Program Director, The MG Case Manager will be implementing an extensive case management servicer in a deliberate, effective and timely manner to eligible clients while maintaining compliance with established federal standards and requirements. 

We aim to remove barriers with compassion, empathy and empowerment, while upholding human dignity and respect. 

Scope of Work:

  1.  Coordinate with Reception and Placement Case Manager for client enrollment in a timely manner.
  2. Conduct an assessment and Intake for new enrollees in the program using an appropriate interpretation.
  3. Provide a job readiness and job placement services.
  4.  Develop Job Club activity and work closely with the community partner to elevate the success of the Job Club.
  5. Develop a tracking system for the employment successful rate.
  6.  Provide an extensive Case Management services that appropriate to the needs to the Match Grant clients that contributed to early 120-180 days.
  7.  Document all visits and case activities and efforts to meet with clients as outlined by the resettlement team and Resettlement Director.
  8.  Tracking the Match component of the program and submit a monthly report to the Program Director.
  9.  Provide transportation for all newly arrived or recently arrived clients as required or needed in compliance with child safety laws.
  10.  Manage the Funder data and submit all the required information in a timely manner.
  11.  Other Duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills: 

  1. Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural context and willingness to work with newly arrived refugees, asylees or parolees.
  2. Ability to speak read and write in fluent English. Fluency in one of the languages spoken by clients, such as Brumes, Pashto, Spanish, Tigrinya, etc.
  3. Demonstration of compassion and patience toward individuals served and a basic understanding of refugee services.
  4. Ability to work constructively as part of a team, with staff and clients.
  5. Ability to identify needs and barriers and communicate follow-up to case managers and Program Manager, as needed and required.
  6. Basic understanding and knowledge of Excel and Word and ability to learn to utilize internal case management database. 

Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • 2-4 years’ experience working with refugee populations and community services preferred 
  • High School degree 
  • Automobile travel required 
  • Valid Driver’s license with a good driving record 
  • Physical requirements may include, carrying up to 25lbs, loading and unloading donated items, standing and carrying items
