Social Media Associate


The Role

Our creative team is seeking a skilled Marketing Associate. The position reports to the Creative Director on the RAICES Marketing Team. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for immigration justice who is willing to jump into an evolving, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years experience in a similar role.


What You’ll Do


Content creation and calendar planning for RAICES Social Media, some of which includes:

  • Tell client stories across all our social platforms
  • Spotting moments in the news and drafting daily original content in response to it
  • Influencer interaction and collaboration
  • Facilitate online conversations with supporters and respond to queries on all social platforms
  • Creatie original memes
  • Social platform-specific knowledge on how to amplify content across each



  • Sourcing relevant events for RAICES to attend
  • Ensure RAICES is on-brand, maintaining a warm and inviting presence
  • Plan for original RAICES events  & work closely with influencers to amplify our service
  • Collaborate with internal business units and other movement organizations on specific campaigns


Support for the Media Relations team:

  • Source new PR contacts (reporters, bloggers, etc.) for the comms team
  • Update media list
  • Send out news to reporters
  • Work with communications team to create new pitches and story ideas to pitch to reporters
  • Generate creative story ideas to pitch to reporters
  • Create different pitch angles to various outlets
  • Align PR with Marketing team
  • Work with copywriter to create original, and relevant blog posts beyond just holiday or campaign launches
  • Ensure blog posts carry over to PR pitching and social media distribution



  • Working closely with creative team to continuously generate ideas to improve RAICES digital marketing performance, including campaign strategy, and expand its audience
  • Assist in branding efforts across all media platforms
  • Assist with special projects; including photoshoots and video shoot direction
  • Uses timelines and scheduled content to create a consistent stream of new content for audience interaction while analysing, managing, and altering schedules where necessary to optimize visits
  • Helpful: Photoshop or canva expertise to create new content
